First round of testing the Every1 learning materials completed!

Critical to Every1 is a deep data-informed understanding of how our stakeholders and ecosystems use information. Therefore, to ensure that Every1 learning materials can better support everyone in the energy transition and digitalisation, we involved our Ecosystems in the testing of our first round of learning materials.

The testing process, which we conducted throughout June and July 2024 included 21 ecosystems involved with Every1.

How does the testing process work?

The learning material tests allowed our participants to review our learning materials and then respond to an online survey. We also conducted in-person and online interviews and workshops in Lochem (Netherlands), Matosinhos (Portugal) and Athens (Greece).

The workshops ranged from meeting with organisational staff to even testing one of our learning materials, a board game designed for children, with local school children in Matosinhos, Portugal. Young people can engage with energy and digitalisation in fun and educational ways.

What we learned?

This testing process highlighted aspects of the learning materials that can be improved to foster the implementation and dissemination of the learning materials. To support the further uptake of learning materials, we recognized the need to translate them in local languages, establish a catchy opening to the materials to engage individuals from the start, and explore in greater detail how the materials can benefit the ecosystems. One of the positive aspects highlighted during the testing phase was also the implementation of practical tips and examples that can be related to everyday life.

After the successful completion of this testing process, we concluded that the learning materials, ranging from introductory online courses to offline booklets on the topic of digitalisation and energy transition, were positively evaluated by the participants particularly in terms of content and format.

Taking this feedback in, we aim to constantly improve our learning materials and incorporate valuable feedback along the way. Our objective is to make our learning materials as accessible and easily understandable as possible. For this reason, we constantly work on further improving the uptake of learning materials by providing examples in local languages or by specifying the type of audience we want to address.

Next Steps

Our next steps will consist of improving our learning materials based on the feedback we gained and starting the process of translating them into different European languages thus ensuring a wider reach while making them more accessible and easier to use. We look forward to continuing this collaborative journey together!
