Market Enablers

The Market Enablers Network facilitates collaboration among DSOs, regulators, and policymakers across 27 member states to develop best practices and pilot projects for a flexible energy market. Through regular online sessions and cooperation with key organisations, the network fosters communication, promotes market opportunities, and creates outreach materials to drive engagement within relevant sectors.

REN – Redes Energéticas Nacionais is the company responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted supply of electricity and natural gas in mainland Portugal. There are more than 700 people working every day to achieve this mission, carried out in a transparent, objective, and economically efficient way and with a strong commitment to sustainable development. REN acts in accordance with the energy goals of the European Union, helping the planet combat climate change, without forgetting the security and quality of energy supply, which is increasingly generated from renewable sources.

HEDNO is the Distribution System Operator (DSO) of Greece. Through the Medium and Low Voltage networks, HEDNO delivers electricity to 7.6 million customers, while the Company manages the High Voltage networks in Attica and the Non-Interconnected islands. HEDNO is one of the largest Distribution Companies in the EU. The fundamental mission of HEDNO is to ensure the efficient operation, maintenance and development of the Greek distribution network and the management of the Non-Interconnected islands electricity systems and to provide non-discriminatory access to the Network, for all energy consumers, dispersed generators and electricity suppliers. The Company’s main services include: network development, network maintenance and operation, consumption metering, fault restoration, connection of all network users, including consumers and distributed RES (Renewable Energy Sources) and CHP (Combined Heat and Power) and the implementation of all necessary measures for mitigating environmental impacts.
