A Better Routeplanner (ABRP) is a highly regarded tool among EV drivers for planning long-distance trips. It calculates the most efficient routes by considering factors such as the specific EV model, battery charge levels, driving habits, and charging station locations.

Input parameters: starting point and destination, electric vehicle model, current state of charge (SoC), preferred charging networks (optional), driving preferences (speed, temperature, payload)

Output: optimised driving route with charging stops, detailed itinerary including when and where to charge, estimates of arrival times, charging durations, and energy consumption, real-time adjustments based on actual driving conditions

Cost: free for basic features; premium subscription (~€5/month) offers advanced features like live traffic, weather forecasts, and real-time charger availability.
